Marla Helton of Serendipity Yoga Studio and Brandon Joe Rutten of Somobola Acropeutics both of Indy Acro will be bringing their exciting approach to acro yoga to the Depauw University Yoga Club for a two hour acro yoga intensive at Serendipity Yoga Studio located in Putnam County! These action packed workshops will give everyone an opportunity to "fly" in a safe and encouraging environment. Participants will learn basing, flying and spotting. For those who are already familiar with some of the basic acro poses we will offer some more advanced but carefully supervised options. With a focus on fundamentals and safety, Brandon and Marla will review basic poses and move into sequences called washing machines in the second workshop. Contact Marla at marlaheltonyoga@gmail. com for more information. Enrollment is limited so registration is required for this special workshop open to Deapuw students. This is an all levels class but the ability to do "plank" pose is very helpful.
Yoga Vinyasa The vinyasa style of yoga is a flowing sequence of poses that ties movement with breath. This is a fairly gentle class with modifications offered for different abilities.
Gentle Flow Yoga This class tends to flow around the needs of the students who attend and offers modifications to meet the needs of different abilities.
Yoga Basics This is intended for those new to yoga or those who need a more nurturing class that is primarily focused on stretching and gentle strengthening. Students will learn to breathe fully, alignment will be stressed and use of props will be encouraged to support the body in order to make the poses more accessible and comfortable.
Hot Yoga Based on the teaching of Bishnu Gosh this class focuses on longer holds in poses in a room at 90 degrees
